LiftLocker is a student-led, community-driven nonprofit created by founder Charlie Lambrinides and his brothers and co-founders, Niko and Alex Lambrinides. Together, they believe every child deserves the opportunity to play sports.
One afternoon, Charlie was hanging out at a friend's house when they went down to the basement. He noticed shelves filled with sports equipment from every stage of his friend's childhood. There were baseball gloves, soccer cleats, basketballs, hockey gear, and more.
By high school, his friend only played golf. Everything else had been left behind.
Charlie kept looking at all that equipment and thought about how much life it still had left.
It was not broken.
It was not worn out.
It was simply no longer needed.
Then he thought about the kids who want to play sports but cannot afford the equipment they need. In that moment, it hit him. What if all of this gear could help another child instead of sitting on a shelf?
Charlie shared the idea with his brothers, Niko and Alex. Niko brought creativity and design to the project, while Alex helped connect the mission with younger students. Together, the three brothers began building the partnerships, equipment drives, and community outreach that became LiftLocker.
The more Charlie thought about it, the more he realized this was not just one basement.
There are garages, closets, and storage rooms across the country filled with sports equipment that families no longer use. At the same time, there are children who never get the chance to play because the cost of equipment is simply too high.
One family has more than they need.
Another family does not have enough.
That afternoon changed the way Charlie looked at sports equipment.
He stopped seeing old gloves, cleats, and helmets. He started seeing opportunities for another child to play, grow, and be part of a team.
That simple moment became the inspiration for LiftLocker.
LiftLocker's mission is to connect unused sports equipment with young athletes who need it, giving every piece of gear a second chance and every child the opportunity to experience the confidence, friendships, and life lessons that sports can provide.
LiftLocker's mission is to remove the financial barriers that prevent children from participating in sports. We collect new and gently used equipment, build complete sport-specific lockers, and distribute them through trusted community organizations to young athletes in need.

Charlie is a student-athlete at Northern Valley Demarest High School who developed the idea for LiftLocker after seeing quality sports equipment sitting unused while other children lacked the gear needed to play. As Founder, he leads school and business outreach, community partnerships, equipment drives, and the development of complete sport-specific lockers.

Niko is a student and creative problem-solver who helped turn LiftLocker from an idea into a working community initiative. As Co-Founder, he helps shape the organization’s visual identity, outreach materials, and campaign ideas while also working hands-on with equipment collections, sorting, and locker preparation.
Co-Founder | Student Ambassador
Alex is a student-athlete at Englewood Cliffs Upper School and LiftLocker’s youngest Co-Founder. As a Student Ambassador, he helps involve younger students, promote equipment drives, and share LiftLocker’s mission with his peers. He also works alongside his brothers to collect, sort, and prepare donated gear.
