Our story

Every kid deserves
an equal shot to play.

LiftLocker is an independent, community-driven nonprofit initiative founded by a high school student who believes every child deserves the opportunity to play sports.

Our story

How it all started

01

An Ordinary Afternoon

One afternoon, I was hanging out at a friend's house when we went down to his basement. As I looked around, I noticed shelves filled with sports equipment from every stage of his childhood. There were baseball gloves, soccer cleats, basketballs, hockey gear, and more.

Now that we were in high school, he only played golf. Everything else had been left behind.

02

The Idea

I kept looking at all that equipment and thought about how much life it still had left.

It was not broken.

It was not worn out.

It was simply no longer needed.

Then I thought about the kids who want to play sports but cannot afford the equipment they need. In that moment, it hit me. What if all of this gear could help another child instead of sitting on a shelf?

03

The Bigger Picture

The more I thought about it, the more I realized this was not just one basement.

There are garages, closets, and storage rooms across the country filled with sports equipment that families no longer use. At the same time, there are children who never get the chance to play because the cost of equipment is simply too high.

One family has more than they need.

Another family does not have enough.

04

LiftLocker

That afternoon changed the way I looked at sports equipment.

I stopped seeing old gloves, cleats, and helmets. I started seeing opportunities for another child to play, grow, and be part of a team.

That simple moment became the inspiration for LiftLocker.

Our mission is to connect unused sports equipment with young athletes who need it, giving every piece of gear a second chance and every child the opportunity to experience the confidence, friendships, and life lessons that sports can provide.

Our mission

Play, belong, thrive.

LiftLocker's mission is to remove the financial barriers that prevent children from participating in sports. We collect new and gently used equipment, build complete sport-specific lockers, and distribute them through trusted community organizations to young athletes in need.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, belong, and thrive.

Founder & Student Ambassador
Charles Lambrinides

Charlie Lambrinides is a student-athlete from Northern Valley Demarest High School who understands how much sports can shape confidence, friendships, leadership, and opportunity.

While many young athletes have access to quality equipment, thousands of children do not. Charlie founded LiftLocker with one simple belief:

Lift a Locker. Change a Season.

His vision is to connect communities, schools, coaches, businesses, and volunteers to ensure that no child is left on the sidelines because they lack the equipment needed to play.

Today, Charlie serves as Founder and Student Ambassador, working with schools, youth organizations, businesses, and fellow student athletes to grow LiftLocker and inspire others to give back.
